AMANDLA STUDIOS is an emerging Film and television production company. It is founded by Ndiyathemba Modibedi and Tumelo Nkwanca, and together they form an immaculate executive team. This company aims to create groundbreaking content that will impulse the Afro centric Narrative in storytelling. It is a state-of-the-art production house with the aim to create compelling content that which an African child can identify themselves and export our content for an international reach.The company is founded with quality experience and an artistic zeal that will make it compete on an International Scale.

The company is 100% Youth and black owned with 50% female ownership. The company has produced a short film, “FROM EXILE WITH LOVE” and short documentary “IN MY SKIN” for festival release, both currently in distribution phase in association Gauteng film Commission and NFVF. Moreover,the company has developed a short film with NFVF “VILLAGE RUNNER”, most recently the company has produced it’s first feature film “SPRAKATI”, currently in post-production and set to release in Summer 2024.

Ndiyathemba Modibedi ka Tyombo – Producer, Director, Writer

NDIYA NDIYA, is an ingenious, vibrant filmmaker and seasoned actor.He is a director, Writer and Producer who graduated with a B Tech Degree in Film and Television Production from Tshwane University of Technology. NDIYA was a finalist of the Netflix African Folktales Re-Imagined short film competition 2022. NDIYA’s professional film career kicks off in 2016 when he produced a Made for TV film called “Memeza” for Star Times channel, In the same year he was sent to Canada, Toronto by the NFVF to be an observing producer of the “Hot Docs” International Documentary Festival. Most recently in November 2021, a candidate representing South Africa at the 6th BRICS film festival in Goa, India. In 2017 he released his debut Directorial short film “SOL” which premiered at Rapid Lion International Film Festival and Cape Town International Film Festival & Market, including a selection for nomination at the SAFTAS and the Africa Movie Academy Awards in Nigeria (2018).

NDIYA has recently directed his first feature film “SPRAKATI” in association with NFVF PESP, the film is post-production set to release next summer. He also produced the award-winning feature film “Letters of Hope” for Trial by Media Films. A film that earned him a nomination for Best Producer at the 2020 Rapid Lion International Film Festival. In 2021 he produced his 2nd feature film “Surviving Gaza” for eVOD, earning 14 nominations at AMAA awards in Nigeria. NDIYA’s 2nd directorial short film “From exile with love” is circulating film festivals including a short documentary, In My Skin, produced in partnership with GFC.

Tumelo Nkwanca – Producer, Writer, Actress

An International Actress and emerging Filmmaker, who holds a B-Tech Degree in Drama and Film from Tshwane University of Technology, as well as a National certificate in Video Production from Boston Media House. Tumelo completed an industry readiness program with “SWIFT” in 2021. She has been working in television on shows such as “Abasemzini”on 1 Magic (Logger/ Content Director Ass), “Will he say Yes” on Honey TV (Production Coordinator), “Big Brother Mzansi” on Mzansi magic (Content Logger) and as well as “I am a Celebrity” on itv in the. UK (Content Logger and Story Commissioning). Moreover, she has recently partnered with the NFVF in development of a short film coming in 2025. She produced a short documentary with (GFC) titled In My Skin (2023) also a short film called a Thin Line Between Love & Death (2024). Tumelo has been mentored by the IPO as an emerging producer through the “Get on Set” program and worked at Quizzical Pictures as part of the development team. Tumelo currently working on another season of “I am Celebrity” Australia addition. She recently co-produced her first feature film “SPRAKATI” set release next summer.


Moreover, as an actress, Tumelo has played pivotal roles earning IMDb credits in international films such as “The Congo Murders” (Norway 2018), TheAlexandra Project (USA2016), Voices of Faith (RSA2017) including International feature documentary film “London recruits”(UK) portraying the life of struggle icon Joyce Sikhakhane.
